At Chalvey Nursery School & Early Years Centre we aim to provide a fun, child centred environment which will stimulate children to become independent learners.
We aim to provide a well-resourced, exciting and challenging curriculum, which promotes active learning through play.
We aim to work in partnership with parents to encourage positive attitudes to learning, high levels of self-esteem and increasing levels of independence.
The school community believes that our aims can be achieved:
- By putting the children’s learning at the heart of everything we do to empower children to
- explore, discover and make sense of their world
- make choices, take decisions and develop independence skills
- play with others, learning the skills of social interaction
- develop an appreciation for their learning environment and treat the environment with care and respect.
- Follow their own learning journeys through developing self-esteem, self-confidence and a sense of their own identity.
- By providing a caring and supportive environment
- By being an inclusive setting that appreciates the uniqueness of the individual child.
- By celebrating the successes of all individuals no matter how small to develop a committed & appreciative learning environment.
- By developing dynamic, innovative and creative practice based on research into how young children learn
- By involving the whole school community in the day to day life of the school to enrich the children’s learning opportunities.
